Research and International Cooperation in Education

The Pôle Recherche et Coopération Internationale en Education (PRCIE) is responsible for implementing the Inspé's scientific and international policy. As a tool for the development of the Inspé, the PRCIE's activities are part of the university's international strategy while following the orientations driven by the Inspé's policy; thus the policy of international relations is driven by research. The PRCIE ensures that research teams participate in the development of the international dimension of the Inspé both in the field of training and research; to this end, they receive all the necessary assistance from the Pôle to integrate international research and development programmes and respond to the various calls for projects.

With numerous agreements with some of the most prestigious faculties of education, as well as with many teacher training institutions around the world, Inspé is open to the world and acts as a leader or partner in training, research and expertise projects.

The three geographical areas mainly invested by Inspé thanks to a solid partnership network are Europe, the Mediterranean world and sub-Saharan Africa, and in recent years has extended to Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia.

The missions of the PRCIE

  • Axis 1: Research project engineering and training

The PRCIE provides support to research and/or training teams in the design, development and monitoring of annual or multi-annual projects at the administrative and financial level in collaboration with the Resources and Resources Centre. It provides strategic monitoring of calls for projects and funding programmes (training, research and expertise) and informs all teams of calls for projects or existing programmes likely to provide funding.

  • Axis 2: Support for national and international scientific events/activities

This mission aims to support all the activities organized by the Inspé, ADEF or SFERE-Provence in terms of research and training. This includes coordinating and organising support for incoming and outgoing mobility of students, teachers, lecturers and administrative staff involved in a research or training programme or projects. The PRCIE can also provide technical and logistical assistance in the organization of scientific events with a national and international dimension. It works in close collaboration with AMU's departments, in particular the Direction de la Valorisation et de la Recherche (DRV) and the Direction des Relations Internationales (DRI), as well as with French and foreign academic and institutional partners.

  • Axis 3: Support, mobilization and structuring of expertise in education and training

Inspé mobilises its expertise in education, training and management in the French-speaking world first of all, and internationally in general.

The PRCIE monitors multilateral donors (EU, WB, ADB, AUF...), international cooperation agencies of countries (France, Canada...) regarding calls for tenders concerning the States targeted by the Inspé development strategy, and provides support for the development of networks led by the Inspé (RAIFFET, RIFFEF, REUNIFFED...). The PRCIE collaborates with several operators and think tanks and partners in a consortium with local universities or private organisations, particularly in the context of responses to calls for expressions of interest in order to meet local constraints (language, logistics, time spent in the country, etc.). The Pôle calls on teachers from the Inspé to conduct expert assessments in different programmes. The PRCIE participates in the actions of the European Commission through investment in meetings organised by the EACEA, the REA and the French Erasmus + agency. The Pole encourages teaching and administrative staff of the Inspé to integrate the Commission's expert bases and to evaluate for the agencies the projects submitted in the various programmes. The PRCIE participates in the development of French expertise within the framework of the associations that structure it (IDEFIE, EvalUE).

  • Axis 4: Administration and management of research and innovation

The PRCIE coordinates the means and budgets allocated to research. It provides the necessary support to the SFERE-Provence research federation (FED 4238), the ADEF research unit (EA 4671) and the doctoral training attached to it. The PRCIE ensures the administrative and pedagogical follow-up of doctoral students enrolled in the doctoral program in educational sciences attached to the ED 356 Doctoral School. It is also responsible for the administration and management of educational research activities, innovation and resource production. The PRCIE helps to disseminate the research produced by Inspé researchers (organization of symposia, symposia and days, information on publications).

  • Axis 5: International mobility

Inspé encourages and develops the international mobility of its students and staff. It welcomes foreign students who wish to obtain a high-level degree - Master's and Doctorate - in the fields of teaching, education and training by adapting their schooling to each of the courses on offer. These students benefit from an individualized welcome within the PRCIE. The Pôle manages partnership agreements with universities, agreements that organise the incoming and outgoing mobility of Inspé staff and students.

Training of trainers

With regard to the training of trainers, the Pole is piloting the reception of groups of teachers, educators, trainers and managers in the education sector from many countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, particularly in the context of responses to calls for training tenders issued by our partners, by ministries, by States or through international organizations.
